Get warmed up for what may be the largest, nuttiest winter adventure race in the history of snow-making. We'll be firing up the snowcat machine to create monstrous obstacles that will leave you shaking in your moon boots. It's the Grand Rapids Urban Adventure Race: Winter Edition!
Part running race and part Amazing Race, the 3-hour winter edition will slip and slide over to the slopes of Cannonsburg Ski Area, just outside of GR.... While we may throw in some traditional snow sports (all optional), the focus will be on fun orienteering in the woods and Amazing Race- like challenges on the slopes.
Using a map and clue sheet given to you just 30 minutes before the race, you and your teammate will collect as many points as you can within 3 hours. Some checkpoints will require you to solve clues to discover their location. Others will be hilarious, not-too-difficult physical challenges. And others you will hunt for over the river and through the woods, but not even close to your grandmother's house.
