I AM the Yeti 5K (snowshoe)

I AM THE YETI 5K

Stomp...stomp...stomp....large foot prints in the fresh powder.  Rustling in the bushes and a snap of a tree branch.  Is someone or something following you?  Nope....you ARE the Yeti and you are escaping the winter blues and cabin fever through the woods in the middle of the mitt!  Come snowshoe with us for competition or stroll with friends and family.  Goodies await you at the finish line including chili, hot chocolate, swag bag, and a warm spot around the fire.   You will also earn a stylish long sleeve t-shirt to use as proof of your experience in the woods.  Family oriented but the competitive are encouraged to blaze the path through the snow.

Registration: 8:30 - 9:45am

Race Start: 10am

Distance: 5K (3.1 miles)

Location: Big Rapids High School

Packet Pick up: MC Sports in Big Rapids from 5-8 pm to receive your race bib, long sleeve t-shirt, swag bag and late registration available.

Equipment: Bring your own snowshoes or rentals available (early registration only), warm clothes, gloves, hat, and other warm essentials.

Rental: $17 snowshoe rental available if registered prior to 02/01/12.  Rentals based on weight. LIMITED NUMBER AVAILABLE!

Course: Run along the Big Rapids High School cross country trail (if no snow this will be a trail run).  Course is through the woods, fields and campus of the high school

Cost: There are a lot of different options.  Look above for this information.  If you are 13 or under this is a free event (if you have your own snowshoes) but that does NOT include the long sleeve t-shirt.  If you want a t-shirt or rental look for those options and we can accommodate you. 

There are family discounts but lets make sure it is truly in the immediate family.  When signing up just include the family name under the family registration. 

Prizes:  Top male and female finishers will receive a pair of BROOKS GORE-TEX waterproof all weather shoes from THE SOLE located at 111 S. Michigan Ave in downtown Big Rapids!

Special prize to the person most resembling a YETI!  Dress up and find out what the prize is!!
