Gazoom 5k/10k/25k
The Gazoom program is a great place to start or get back in the game! Train for a 5k event amidst a fun and supportive environ¬ment with training schedules that combine walking and running. Having fun running 5ks but want to do more? Check out the Gazoom 10k. With a little motivation and a lot of fun, it can happen! Experience the thrill and accomplishment of a 25k as we work together through the winter to prepare for the best 25k event in the country. Gazoom programs meet twice weekly for group runs where you’ll receive training advice from our knowledgeable and caring staff, participate in informational clinics and have the opportunity to establish future running buddies. Gazoom program distances vary according to location and time of year.  This program is for runners in the East Grand Rapids area, so come on out and try us out!

Metro Health Move It 5K Training Program
The Metro Health Move It program is a great place to start or get back in the game! Train for a 5K event no matter what level of runner you are.  If you are just starting we have a group for you!  Are you trying to run a 5K for the first time without walking?  We also have a group that would work great for you!  Are you trying to reach a personal record for a 5K?  This group would be perfect!  Metro Health & Gazelle Sports will provide you with low coach to participant ratio, Gazelle Sports wicking shirt, training schedule, educational clinics, resource notebook and 10% discount card on personal items to Gazelle Sports.  Lets get moving this spring with Metro Health's Move It Program!  This program is for runners in the Byron Center area!

Training 2 Finish

Join staff from Gazelle Sports and other area runners every Thursday from noon to 1:00 pm for coaching sessions designed to help you reach the 25K, 10K or 5K Run finish line on Saturday, May 8.  The group is geared for those who can run a minimum of three miles, and are looking for direction and accountability in their training efforts.  Members will meet at the David D. Hunting Branch YMCA (475 Lake Michigan Drive), then head outside to train, before regrouping back at the YMCA.  For just $45, you’ll receive:

  • 16 group training sessions
  • long sleeve BROOKS wicking shirt
  • training tips and information
  • access to lockers and showers at the David D. Hunting Branch YMCA each Tuesday
  • networking with other area veteran runners

Training 2 Finish is limited to the first 40 participants who sign up online or via the entry form and runs from Thursday, January 21 through Thursday, May 6. If you miss a session, training routes/routines will be available online at 53riverbankrun.com.

Once you register for the group, you’ll be mailed a Training 4 Two card which you’ll show at the David D. Training 4 Two

Join staff from Gazelle Sports and other area runners every Tuesday from noon to 1:00 pm for coaching sessions designed to assist you in crossing the 25K finish line in two hours or less and/or setting a new personal best.  The group is geared for those who have some running experience, but are looking for training in a group atmosphere.  Members will meet at the David D. Hunting Branch YMCA (475 Lake Michigan Drive), then head outside to train, before regrouping back at the YMCA.  For just $45, you’ll receive:

  • 16 group training sessions

Safari Marathon/Half-Marathon
The Gazelle Sports Safari training program will get you to the finish line of a fall marathon or half-marathon. Both programs offer expert coaching, support, training schedules, group runs with hydration support, guided track workouts, educational clinics on nutrition, heart rate monitor training and utilizing speed work and more. These 13-18 week programs have training schedules for beginners to veteran marathoners.

Borgess Run Camp Half-Marathon/5k
In this 13-week outdoor running adventure, you can set and and achieve individual goals with the help of experienced coaches, trained team leaders and team support. Borgess Run Camp places special emphasis on providing information, instruction and coaching for people who are just starting or starting over. We are proud to offer expert coaches AND small group team leaders, providing clinics, hydration support, post-run refreshments and camaraderie to bring out the champion in you.
